Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month

Hope Hub, Level 1

This May join us as we raise awareness and understanding of domestic and family violence and coercive control in our community. Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month is an annual community initiative held each May in Queensland.

Darkness to Daylight
In Australia on average 110 people die from domestic and family violence every year. Challenge DV is hosting their 11 year Darkness to Daylight 110km run, where each kilometre represents one of those lives lost.

Men’s Walk and Talk will be walking to Carindale on 5 May for the start of domestic and family violence prevention month. This will be part of their participation in Darkness to Daylight. To find out more you can visit Challenge DV on our Community Desk located on Ground Level near Best & Less on Sunday 5 May.

Hope Hub
HOPE Hub is a community safe space created for anyone navigating social issues impacting women, men, youth including domestic abuse and mental health.
Community members can visit or contact HOPE Hub to get access to information, referrals and support with a focus on domestic violence and mental health.
