Accessibility

To ensure all our customers can navigate around our centre with ease we offer the following services to assist with accessibility.

Mobility hire

For mobility-impaired customers, we offer wheelchairs and power shoppers complimentary for three hours. The wheelchairs and power shoppers are in high demand, and are therefore subject to availability. You can hire these services from the concierge desk.

To hire a mobility vehicle, you will need proof of identification, which should be either a valid passport, driver’s license or proof of age card. On presentation of these, you’ll be asked to fill out a hire agreement form. Once that’s done, you’re ready to go.

Please call the concierge team to book your mobility equipment in advance to guarantee availability.

Accessible amenities

At Westfield Carindale all of our toilet areas have a wheelchair accessible toilet.

Disability parking

As a Mobility Parking Permit holder, you can access free parking and enjoy new benefits through the Westfield membership program. For more information on Westfield membership, including how to download the app, visit: westfield.com.au/membership

How do I receive all day free parking at Westfield Carindale?

• Download the Westfield app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and create an account.
• If you haven’t already, you’ll need to register and verify your Disability Parking Permit at the Concierge desk. Once your permit has been verified, the accessibility parking validation will be automatically applied each time you enter the car park. You’ll only need to verify once.

If you don’t have a smart phone, please visit Concierge on Ground Level near Flight Centre for assistance.

Register once

Once you have registered and your permit has been verified you will no longer be required to visit the Concierge Desk on each visit to receive the validation. The free parking validation will automatically apply each time you enter the car park.

Quiet Time

Westfield Carindale aims to create an inclusive environment for all customers and offer a shopping experience where all customers feel welcomed and valued.

Through our Quiet Hour initiative, we look to make a difference to those who face the challenge of shopping in a high sensory environment.

During Quiet Hour, we will dim the lighting and adjust our music to limit sensory over stimulaton. Many of our retailers will also participate by dimming their lights, lowering their music and creating special offers just for Quiet Hour.

Quiet Time: Every Tuesday 10:30am - 11:30am

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme

Westfield is a proud participant in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme which helps to support and raise awareness for people living with a hidden disability.

Under the Hidden Disability Sunflower scheme, our customers with hidden disabilities such as autism, chronic pain, dementia, anxiety, visual or hearing impairment, can choose to wear a lanyard bearing a sunflower logo as a subtle way of letting our centre employees and retailers know that they may require additional support, assistance, or a bit more time when visiting our centres.

The free Sunflower lanyards can be collected from Concierge .
