At Westfield, we know our centres are more than just shopping hubs. They are lifestyle destinations where people come to connect, share and inform.

We cultivate spaces that are inclusive and welcoming, which our communities are proud to call their own; and we contribute to the social wellbeing and cohesion of our local regions through a number of programs and services. It is through this commitment that we deliver our purpose of creating extraordinary places, connecting and enriching communities.

Westfield Local Heroes

Westfield Local Heroes is a new community recognition and grants program, connecting and enriching local communities.

Westfield Local Heroes discovers and celebrates individuals who promote social wellbeing and/or harmony in our communities through their work, programs or activities, across one or more of the three social values of Family, Youth Opportunity and Inclusion.

The successful Westfield Local Heroes will be announced on 13 August.

Meet our 2018 finalists

Our communities across Australia and New Zealand have now cast their votes for the inaugural 2018 Westfield Local Heroes from a list of 233 shortlisted finalists. The outcome of this community vote will determine the three successful 2018 Westfield Local Heroes for each Westfield Centre, and each of their affiliated organisations will be awarded a $10,000 grant to support their work, program or activities.

Westfield community sites

We provide a dedicated space in all 40 Westfield centres in Australia and New Zealand for community-focused groups (i.e. not-for-profit sports groups, community groups, charities and welfare organisations) to connect with people in the local area. Priority is given to groups and activities that are relevant and valued to the local community.

Community engagement

We work closely with key local groups and individuals to discover, celebrate and contribute to those things that are relevant and meaningful to the local community. We also invite customer and community insights via face-to-face, phone and digital channels.

Community volunteering and workplace giving
