Meet our Local Hero finalists

Hedayat Osyan

Hedayat Osyan, founder and CEO of CommUnity Construction, supports refugees by providing training and employment in the NSW construction industry. Since 2018, he has trained over 90 refugees, offering them meaningful work experience and confidence. Hedayat’s dedication stems from his own experiences as a refugee.

If Hedayat is successful in the community vote, the money will be used to support Afghan women to secure training and employment in the cleaning and construction industries.

Jaxon Taylor

New South Wales Power Chair Football

Determined. Inclusive. Inspirational.

Jaxon Taylor, born with Muscular Dystrophy, uses his life experience to mentor young players at New South Wales Power Chair Football. He fosters inclusivity and supports others, inspiring them through his resilience and positivity. His efforts impact around 100 people, including families and the wider community.
