M.J. Bale: Tailored for the World Stage
M.J. Bale, Ground Level

There is a moment before every major tournament when a national team stops being a collection of individuals from different clubs around the world, with different playing styles, and becomes something unified. The way they carry themselves off the pitch - through airports, into press conferences, at official functions – is a big part of that.
M.J. Bale has been part of that moment for the CommBank Socceroos before - in 2014, and again in 2022. Now, as the boys prepare to represent Australia in North America, our partnership continues. We are honoured to dress the national team, coaching staff, and support team for travel, matchdays, and official appearances throughout the campaign.
The centrepiece of the CommBank Socceroos’ formal look is the Churchill suit - crafted from Australian Merino wool grown in New England, New South Wales, and woven into a charcoal cloth by Italy’s Vitale Barberis Canonico, one of the world’s great wool mills. It is a suit threaded with provenance: Australian fibre, Italian craft, worn by men at the peak of their athletic powers.
“To represent your country is the pinnacle,” says M.J. Bale Founder and CEO Matt Jensen. “We are honoured to play a role in helping the Socceroos present a unified, modern and distinctly Australian look throughout their journey.”
Football Australia CEO Martin Kugeler sees the partnership as part of a broader strategy to align the national team with premium Australian brands - particularly as it steps onto one of sport’s biggest stages.
“M.J. Bale has been part of the CommBank Socceroos’ journey for many years and understands the importance of how our national team presents itself to the world,” says Kugeler. “M.J. Bale’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship and Australian identity ensures our players and staff will carry themselves with confidence and distinction when representing Australia.”
The Churchill suit is available now in M.J. Bale stores and online.
