We congratulate all of our finalists and recognise the important contribution they make to the local community.

This year Westfield will award 126 grants across Australia and New Zealand totalling $1.25M. Now in its 7th year, the Westfield Local Heroes program will have contributed $8.6M to more than 860 successful Local Hero organisations since it began.

Voting has now closed and the Westfield Local Heroes will be announced 15 October.

Meet our Local Hero finalists

Jennifer Bradshaw

Cancer Patients Foundation

Kind. Generous. Compassionate.

Jennifer Bradshaw has volunteered with the Cancer Patients Foundation's Look Good Feel Better program for over 33 years. She facilitates ten workshops a year, helping up to 70 cancer patients manage the physical, psychological and social impacts of treatment. She provides them with practical tools and emotional support to regain confidence.

If Jennifer is successful in the community vote, the money will be used to fund Look Good Feel Better workshops for 200 people undergoing cancer treatment.

Kate Bettenay

Hero Hunter

Inspiring. Determined. Generous.

Kate Bettenay founded the Hero Hunter Foundation (HHF) to support families with children undergoing cancer treatment. Inspired by her son Hunter's battle with blood cancer, Kate provides essential services such as meals for carers, fuel vouchers, home maintenance and respite days. HHF supports around 180 families annually, offering vital assistance during challenging times.

If Kate is successful in the community vote, the money will be used to pay for a year’s worth of meals and juices to be delivered to hospitals for 2,280 carers.

Nicola Henderson

Zephyr Education

Caring. Patient. Selfless.

Nicola Henderson is the sole WA Coordinator for Zephyr Education. She provides school essentials to children who have fled domestic violence and need to start fresh in new schools. As a retired primary school teacher, she believes keeping kids in school can help break the cycle of domestic violence.

If Nicola is successful in the community vote, the grant will ensure that more vulnerable children get the opportunity to start over. The funds will provide school uniforms, laptops, iPads, school shoes and backpacks.
