Support Share the Dignity at Westfield Southland
This August, Westfield Southland are hosting two Share the Dignity donation boxes across the centre, to support our commitment to ending period poverty.
What is Share The Dignity?
Period poverty is a silent crisis affecting people in our own communities each and every day.
Share the Dignity is an Australian charity working to make a real, on-the-ground difference to provide period products to those who are unable to safely access these products.
At Share the Dignity, they believe no one should face the indignity of not having access to period products and works with hundreds of charities to ensure products are distributed directly to women experiencing period poverty to help restore dignity, one pad, one person at a time.
As well as removing barriers to accessing period products, Share the Dignity is also about ensuring menstrual education, eradicating the shame/stigma surrounding periods and advocating for better health outcomes for women.
Sport:
Did you know 68% of menstruators have skipped sport due to their period? Share the Dignity are committed to removing menstruation as a barrier to sport participation with ‘A Bloody Good Sport’ from Feb 2026. Share the Dignity collaborated with Uni of Victoria to create educational materials which not only help athletes manage their period but utilise their menstrual cycle to make the most of their training to encourage more people to play sport more often.
How you can help:
Simply purchase an extra pack of period products on your next visit to Westfield Southland and place in the donation box after your shop!
