This month we sat down with Jan, Martin and the team from Dymocks to learn more about Dymocks.

Q1: How long have you been a part of the Dymocks business?
We opened in December 2007 so we’ve been going for over 15 years.

Q2: What made you want to own a bookstore?
We were looking to buy a business and are both book lovers so it seemed like the obvious choice for us.

Q3. Who is your all-time favourite author? What do you love about them?

For both of us it would be Michael Robotham, we are yet to read a book of his we didn't love. His psychological thrillers make compelling reads and always keep you hooked! We’ve been lucky to have Michael visit our store several times in the past and love to hear how he comes up with his storylines.

Q4: What are your 3 desert island books?
We would take a copy of the SAS Survival Handbook and maybe a copy of Jamie’s 4 Ingredients! The Little Veggie Plot would also come in handy! (we are practical people!)

Q5: Are there any new books coming out that you’re particularly excited about?

There's lots of great books coming out at this time of year and amongst these we are looking forward to the release of best selling author Trent Dalton's new book Lola in the Mirror, set for release this October.

Q6: Is there anything you’d like to your Book lovers to know about your store?

We are a dedicated and friendly bunch, who live locally and would love to help you find your next read. Caroline, our children’s fiction expert, has worked with us since the store first opened. She loves nothing more than introducing books to young reluctant readers and then seeing them come back for more! We’re always here to help and love talking about books!
