Owner Lenny started his journey in the fresh produce industry at the age of nine, working his weekends in a fruit shop stacking potatoes for $2 a day. During school holidays he worked full-time, with his wages upgraded to $7 a week. Much later, after a variety of other careers, Lenny spent ten years with his own store at New Farm, before opening Spuds and Plums with his nephew Alf in 2014.

Lenny and Alf are not only business partners, but also uncle and nephew. Working in-store on a daily basis both Lenny and Alf know the fresh produce industry inside and out.
