Meet our Westfield Local Hero finalists

Jessica Yugovich

The Aliyah Mae Foundation

Resilient. Selfless. Courageous.

After her daughter Aliyah passed suddenly in 2024, Jess Yugovich founded The Aliyah Mae Foundation to support other WA families navigating child loss or critical illness. Her foundation provides essential help to grieving parents when they need it most, offering care packs in hospital, grief counselling funding, education, and an online support hub.

If Jess is successful, the grant would fund counselling and psychology sessions and allow the foundation to extend support to families experiencing full-term stillbirth.

Louise Shedden

Back on Track Foundation

Creative. Determined. Compassionate.

Through her work with the Back on Track Foundation, Louise Shedden helps young cancer survivors and their siblings rebuild educational futures after treatment disrupts their schooling. Last year the organisation supported 145 children across 97 West Australian schools with tailored learning plans, advocacy and tutoring, giving families a voice and helping young people reclaim their place in the classroom.

If Louise is successful, the money will support at least one additional student for a full year, with remaining funds contributing to a second student’s educational program.

Monique Louise

Uni Camp for Kids

Committed. Influential. Empowering..

Monique Louise has volunteered thousands of hours and raised over $200,000 for at-risk children in metropolitan West Australia through Uni Camp for Kids. After six years with the organisation, she has held a number of leadership roles, helping guide 400 volunteers to provide connection, support and opportunities for hundreds of underprivileged children.

If Monique is successful, the money will fund meals, recreational programs, medical supplies and volunteer training, as well as experiences that allow children to connect with country and cultural pride.
