Community
At Westfield, we know our centres are more than just shopping hubs. They are lifestyle destinations where people come to connect, share and inform.
We cultivate spaces that are inclusive and welcoming, which our communities are proud to call their own; and we contribute to the social wellbeing and cohesion of our local regions through a number of programs and services. It is through this commitment that we deliver our purpose of creating extraordinary places, connecting and enriching communities.
Westfield Local Heroes
We all know those inspiring people who go above and beyond to make a positive impact to their local community and/or environment... and we're inviting you to nominate them in the Westfield Local Heroes community recognition and awards program.
Nominations for the 2020 Westfield Local Heroes community recognition and awards program open 18 February to 16 March. Click here for further info or nominate below.
The program discovers and celebrates individuals who make a positive impact to their local community and/or environment.
Westfield Local Heroes are nominated and voted for by their communities, with three finalists per Westfield centre each awarded a $10,000 grant for their affiliated organisation or group.
The program recognises and promotes community role models whose work or activities create positive benefit for others in one or more of the following ways:
- Nurturing a sense of belonging and inclusion
- Helping in times of community crisis
- Building community resilience
- Promoting positive health and wellbeing
- Improving access to community services and groups
- Protecting the local environment

Quiet Time
Westfield Tuggerah aims to create an inclusive environment for all customers and offer a shopping experience where all customers feel welcomed and valued.
Through our Quiet Hour initiative we look to make a difference to those who face the challenge of shopping in a high sensory environment.
During Quiet Hour, Westfield Tuggerah dims it's lighting and adjusts it's music alongside limiting some day to day activities during the hour to limit sensory over stimulaton. Many of our retailers participate by also dimming their lights, lowering thier music and creating special offers just for Quiet Hour.
Quiet Time
Every Tuesday, 10:30am-11:30am
Community engagement
We work closely with key local organisations, groups and individuals to discover, celebrate and contribute to those things that are relevant and meaningful to the local community. We also invite customer and community insights via face-to-face, phone and digital channels.
At Westfield, we work with our community partners to encourage, respect and understand our community's needs through experience, by recognising and helping to resolve issues, in order for us to become recognised as an essential and integral part of the community.
Westfield Tuggerah are proud supporters of:
• Coast Shelter
• Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council
• Camp Breakaway
• Central Coast Mariners Football Club
• Westpac Rescue Helicopter
• Central Coast Dementia Alliance
Contributing to our local communities
We provide a dedicated space in all Westfield centres for community-focused groups (i.e. not-for-profit sports groups, community groups, charities and welfare organisations) to connect with people in the local area.
And our staff are passionate about giving back and we support them to do this in a variety of ways through Workplace Giving and Volunteering. For more information on any of our programs or services, please contact us.
