Jonathan Daniel

Life Anglican Church Quakers Hill

Encouraging. Nurturing. Innovative.

Through his commitment to Life Anglican Church’s Bread of Life pantry, Jonathan supports people struggling to make ends meet across Quakers Hill - from single parents, to grandparents, those experiencing homelessness, and everyone in between.  

 As well providing bread, fresh meat and produce every week to more than 60 families living in financial hardship, Jonathan also offers compassion and connection. He is involved at every stage – picking up deliveries in the bus, coordinating volunteers and managing the set-up and pack-up processes. 

 Jonathan, a Connect Pastor with the church, explains how the team tries to make the food available to anyone who needs it. 
 “We also deliver if families in the community struggle or face difficulty to come to the community pantry,” he says. 
 “It’s great to connect with people, get to know them and know their needs.”  

 As well as being hands-on with the operations, Jonathan is also an integral part of ensuring that the community pantry can continue to exist.  

 He has also been successful in establishing partnerships organisations that donate supplies to the pantry, and beyond this, he also works hard every week to find creative solutions to fund out-of-pocket expenses that inevitably arise to provide this service.

The $20,000 grant will be used to expand the pantry to reach even more suburbs and use the funds to provide Christmas hampers.

Aaliyah is a passionate youth mentor and community leader at Mount Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency, empowering over 850 young people and 80 women through culturally inclusive programs. Her commitment to equity and inclusion continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of local youth, women, and families.

Mayor Chagai from PCYC Mt Druitt

Mayor has dedicated nearly 20 years to mentoring youth through inclusive sports programs in Western Sydney. He nurtures both academic and athletic growth, instils a sense of purpose and teaches his young sport stars real life skills. Mayor also advocates for young people and creates pathways for them to sporting bodies and scholarships.
