Do the words elevated chic, classy but a little bit edgy or capsule wardrobe but not boring tick any boxes? This aesthetic is one of the most requested personal styling sessions I receive and Kookai is undeniably one of my go-to brands for achieving this look. Whether you’re style is a little more sporty like my sister, Ash, or you love classic tailoring like myself, let me show you what Ash and I loved during our try-on haul at Kookai.

LOOK ONE

Kate: I loveeeee a classic navy pinstripe moment and the Oslo Strapless Top and D Ring Pant are divine. This is a new style of pant for Kookai and I truly believe they’re onto a winner; a little bit of interest without over complicating such a classic look.
Ash: I’m not surprised in the least she chose the Oyster Curve Top because it screams “sexy yet timeless little black top”. It was the Palermo Bias Cut Pant that surprised Ash, as she typically wears high-rise pants and these are mid-rise. For any woman who wears black pants to the office but also wants a pair for going out, I highly recommend the Palermo.

LOOK TWO

Kate: The Azra Top intrigued me the moment I saw it and knew it was going give me that cool-girl energy. Styled with the Alto Flare Pant (which are the prefect length!), I felt like an F1 WAG. Without hesitation, the Phoenix Faux Leather completed my look because it ticked all the boxes – cropped but not too cropped, a funnel neck, a drawstring hem allowing me to cinch and create more of a bubble hem, and of course, the colour!
Ash: If Ash were a jacket, she would be the Dylan Suede Jacket - a gorgeous olive, cropped silhouette and a perfect addition for her capsule wardrobe. Like Ash, if you prefer block colours to print, you too will adore the Geneva Tank because texture can be your best friend! She was very excited to discover the Mateo Wide-Leg Jean in the colour ash to complete her look.

LOOK THREE

Well, of course we had to try on the same dress. The Alto Curved Mini is so us! The hidden gem in this dress is the neckline, as wire runs along the edge of the bust, giving you hidden structural support. But our outerwear choices - now that’s when personal style is glorious. Ash felt like Queen of the North in her Aspen Faux Fur Jacket and I felt like…..well, absolutely gorg and very Kate Kohler, in the Dresden Wool Coat in chocolate marle.
