In early 2023, we will open nominations for the 2023 Westfield Local Heroes program, so start thinking about those people in your communities who make a difference.

Your 2022 Westfield Helensvale Local Hero is:

Carly Fradgley

Baby Give Back
Relentless. Passionate. Trailblazer

Selfless Carly Fradgley has spent five years helping thousands of vulnerable families access much-needed baby essentials.

Carly is the founder and CEO of Baby Give Back, a charity that collects, cleans and safety checks donated prams, cots, baby seats and other items so families can give their children a safe start in life.

Baby Give Back has provided essential items to 17,000 families in need by working with volunteers, donors and aid agencies.

The bigger the need, the harder Carly works. She led the expansion of Baby Give Back’s operations during the recent floods in NSW and Queensland and they helped 1,100 families in one month alone.

As someone who turns challenges into opportunities, when Carly struggled to balance caring for her children with the demands of her growing charity, she started using her work to teach them the values that she lives by: Courage, Compassion, Community and Sustainability.

Carly believes people are naturally generous and kind and sees her role as connecting that generosity with practical support for those who need it most. Her passion for reducing inequality is infectious, and she has inspired politicians, local businesses and mothers’ groups to support her work.

“Everyone can be a part of our community providing compassionate, judgment-free support to those in need,” Carly says.

Baby Give Back will put the grant towards buying prams, cots and car seats to keep available for people in urgent need.

We also congratulate our finalists who will receive a $5,000 grant for the organisation they represent, and we thank them for their incredible contribution to the local community.
