Step Inside Geelong’s New Landmark Destination

Discover Nyaal Banyul at the Free Community Open Day

Geelong’s newest waterfront destination has officially arrived. The impressive Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre has opened its doors on the Corio Bay foreshore, marking a major milestone for our city and creating an exciting new hub for events, entertainment and community gatherings.

To celebrate, locals are invited to a free Community Open Day on Saturday 11 July, offering the perfect opportunity to explore the stunning new venue before its calendar of major events gets underway.

Visitors can enjoy:

  • Self-guided tours of the new facility
  • Live entertainment
  • Family-friendly activities and face painting
  • Local food and drink experiences
  • A chance to explore the venue's impressive public spaces and amenities

Located at 80 Western Beach Road, the development features a 1,000-seat theatre, 3,700 square metres of flexible event space and a luxury 200-room hotel overlooking the bay. The centre has been designed with accessibility and inclusivity at its heart, incorporating sensory rooms, prayer spaces, all-gender amenities and dedicated family facilities.

The venue's name, Nyaal Banyul, meaning*"open your eyes to the hills"* in Wadawurrung language, reflects its strong connection to Wadawurrung Country and the region's cultural heritage.
