SACHA DRAKE: Australian made for you

Sacha Drake

Made to last

SACHA DRAKE takes pride in creating timeless styles to last. Only choosing the highest quality of fabrics and match this with unique flattering silhouettes that won’t date or deteriorate quickly. This means when you are buying a SACHA DRAKE garment you are investing in a quality piece that you will be able to wear often and for many years, thus limiting the fast fashion trends and helping reduce environmental waste.

Versatility is key

Many SACHA DRAKE garments can be worn multiple ways, or for multiple occasions which limits the needs for excess garments in the wardrobe. Their reversible styles make outfits unrecognisable on repeat wears, and means you get more cost per wear out of your garments. SACHA DRAKE designs are also carefully considered to be worn across many occasions and just one garment can take you from work to a wedding and into the weekend, thus getting more wear out of less clothing. This limits one time use purchases and less items making their way to landfill.

Recycle and reuse at HQ

To ensure waste is limited they recycle or donate their excess samples and fabrics to women’s health organisations. Mater Chicks in Pink collects the excess waste fabric which is then used to create scarves for women with breast cancer. Samples also become staff uniforms in store which then limits the need of extra work uniforms.

Giving back

SACHA DRAKE cares for and supports the women’s health community, and a few charitable organisations have a special place with them. They support and work with ZONTA international who are a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

SACHA DRAKE have also worked and partnered with 4 voices and Roses for Safety as part of their GIVIT sleepwear charity project. This saw over 100 pieces of SACHA DRAKE sleepwear donated to local survivors of domestic violence over the Christmas period.

Wear and care

SACHA DRAKE value the environment and the way in which you care for your garments can extend their wearability and lessen environmental impact. These are a few ways in which you can be more ecofriendly whilst looking after your garments:

  • Try to wash less often- clothes can be refreshed by airing if needed
  • Wash in cooler temperatures
  • Use full loads rather than half loads
  • Use a ‘green’ plant-based laundry detergent
  • Hang clothes out to dry rather than using dryers.

Mindful Manufacturing

SACHA DRAKE care about how their garments are created and have the privilege of working with some of the most skilled people locally. Their design room employs many highly experienced seamstresses who create their sampling and in house production runs, as well as garment cutters and pattern makers.

Sacha has also developed a close relationship with their local manufacturing partners and has been working with some of them for over a decade. All located throughout Brisbane, they work closely with them to achieve a high standard and quality.

Another portion of their garments are manufactured offshore in their partnered factories in China. Sacha herself as well as members of the production team have personally visited these factories to ensure they meet their high-quality standards.

Regardless of the location, all of SACHA DRAKE’s manufacturers are required to adhere to their high ethical and social standards.
