This NAIDOC Week, Westfield Chermside is proud to showcase the Brisbane Broncos 2026 Indigenous Jersey.

Our Level 1 display case has been transformed to showcase the Broncos’ Indigenous legacy and enduring connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The display case features the club’s 2026 Indigenous Round jersey, giving our customers the first opportunity to experience the new Jersey design.

The Story Behind the Brisbane Broncos 2026 Indigenous Jersey

The Brisbane Broncos' 2026 Indigenous Jersey is designed by Beyond the Broncos student Ladda Kaewhanam, with support from Casey Coolwell-Fisher.

The artwork tells a story of journey, identity, family and culture. It reflects the strength we find in one another and the guidance of those who came before us, reminding us that every person has a story and every journey is connected.

The Dots

The dots represent our ancestors and the tracks they have left for us to follow. They symbolise the guidance, protection and wisdom they continue to provide as they watch over us. They remind us to honour their legacy, remember where we come from, and carry our culture with pride wherever we go.

The Background

The flowing background represents the waterways and our deep connection to the sea. Water is a source of life, nourishment and healing, but it is also a pathway for travel, trade and cultural connection. These waterways carry stories, traditions and identity from one generation to the next, reflecting the enduring bond between our people and Country.

The Sleeves

The sleeve design represents Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people coming together as one. Individually we are strong, but together we shine brighter. It symbolises unity, shared strength and the power that comes from standing together as one community.

The Story

The story behind this jersey is deeply personal. It represents my family, togetherness and self-discovery. It shows that when we support one another with love, guidance, kindness and compassion, we have the strength to achieve anything. Together, we find the courage to step beyond our comfort zones and continue moving forward.

Our culture creates a bond that remains with us wherever we go. As long as we stand together, we continue to grow.

This story also reflects the journeys of the Brisbane Broncos players. Like me, each player has come from their own home, family and community. Through the love, support and guidance they have received, they have persevered and come together to become one family within the Broncos.
As a team, they live values that are reflected throughout this artwork. Respect creates trust. Mateship creates togetherness. Resilience builds strength, determination and courage. These values create the bonds of family that help us continue moving forward on the field, in our communities and in our lives.

Everyone has a story to tell. No matter who you are, where you come from or what your background may be, you have your own journey. Whether you write it, share it or simply live it, your journey shapes who you are and who you are becoming.

This artwork also tells my own story. It is about becoming the storyteller for my family and embracing my identity as a proud First Nations woman. To me, being a First Nations woman is one of the greatest strengths I could ever carry.

I believe my ancestors chose me to share not only my own story, but theirs as well. By telling these stories, I hope to inspire change, create understanding and encourage young First Nations people to believe in themselves, challenge expectations and follow their dreams with pride.
As First Nations people, we belong to the oldest living culture in the world. Our resilience, knowledge and connection to Country have been carried through generations, and it is our responsibility to continue sharing those stories.

My journey is about more than moving from one stage of life to another. It is about the challenges I have faced, the successes I have celebrated and the lessons I have learned along the way. Those experiences have shaped the person I am today and continue to guide me towards the person I am becoming - a storyteller who honours her family, her culture and her ancestors.
One Journey to Another is a reminder that while every journey begins in a different place, we are stronger when we walk together, carrying the stories of those who came before us and creating new stories for those who will follow.

The Brisbane Broncos' 2026 Indigenous Jersey will be worn during both of the Club’s Indigenous Round fixtures at Suncorp Stadium, against the Dolphins on Saturday 8 August and the Warriors on Saturday 15 August.
