Dancing queen brings joy to her community

The $10,000 Westfield Local Heroes grant has enabled Dance Chance to fund venue hire, purchase new equipment for the studio and fund the production of their annual concert.

35 dancers and 20 volunteers have beenfited from the grant, as they have not had to contribute from their own pockets to fund the annual concert.

Pam Timmins continues to recognise that anyone can find joy and creativity in dance, yet mainstream classes do not necessarily cater to those with different needs.

Pam continues to be organisation’s lifeblood, coordinating venues, organising equipment and communicating with the dancers, their families and the volunteers.

Pam is motivated by the positive impact on the families and support networks of the dancers and continues to provide opportunities for new connections.

“It’s wonderful that so many people support what we are doing and that the community appreciates what the volunteers do and what it means to the carers,” Pam says.
