Voting has now closed for Westfield Local Heroes

We congratulate all of our finalists and recognise the important contribution they make to the local community.

This year Westfield will award 126 grants across Australia and New Zealand totalling $1.25M. Now in its 7th year, the Westfield Local Heroes program will have contributed $8.6M to more than 860 successful Local Hero organisations since it began.

Voting has now closed and the Westfield Local Heroes will be announced 15 October.

Meet our Local Hero finalists

Angus Bowring

Top Blokes Foundation

Inclusive. Mentor. Leader.

Angus Bowring is helping young men become Top Blokes. As a dedicated youth worker with the Top Blokes Foundation, Angus delivers invaluable programs to young males between the ages of 10 and 24, aimed at making a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing. His work has benefitted hundreds of young men across Sydney.

If Angus is successful in the community vote, the money will pay for an additional three schools in the lower north shore to participate in the Top Blokes Foundation mentorship program, benefitting 36 young men.

Brenda Lin

The Survivor Hub

Resilient. Compassionate. Dedicated.

Brenda Lin co-founded The Survivor Hub to support sexual assault survivors by providing safe spaces for connection and support. Over the past two years, Brenda has established 11 locations across NSW and Victoria, supporting over 1,000 survivors. Brenda works tirelessly, volunteering 30-40 hours a week while pursuing a PhD and tutoring criminology.

If Brenda is successful in the community vote, the money will be used to expand The Survivor Hub to meet growing demand for the service and fund resources such as wages to ensure long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Jennifer Pride

Cerebral Palsy Alliance

Selfless. Passionate. Inspirational.

Jenny Pride is an inspiring foster carer and a passionate member of Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA). Over the past 23 years, she has fostered over 40 children — more than half of whom have high support needs. Now in her 70s, she continues to foster children, care for her adopted daughter and support other caregivers.

If Jenny is successful in the community vote, the grant will provide 20 babies with five critical early intervention therapy sessions as part of CPA’s Babies at Risk program. The therapy will help diagnose and support babies at risk of cerebral palsy.
