Rowi Singh, Sydney makeup artist

What does the theme ‘Spring Outside the Box' spring to mind for you?
For me, it’s taking risks. It’s participating in the unconventional to not appease anyone but myself.

What are your top 3 beauty must-haves this season?
A really beautiful blush that complements your skin tone - I love the Glow Play blush from Mac Cosmetics. Lipgloss always. I loveee Fenty Beauty Glossbomb in Hot Chocolit. Playful, colourful gel eyeliner - Urban Decay have some beautiful 24/7 glide-on colourful pencils. A touch of colour on the eyes might just be what you need to add a little pep in your step.

Maxine Wylde, Melbourne-based style influencer

What does the theme ‘Spring Outside the Box' spring to mind for you?
When I think of 'Spring Outside the Box' I think of challenging yourself, pushing yourself to try something new, do something you haven't done before or wear something you never imagined yourself in. When we challenge ourselves and think outside the box, we often stumble across new things we love and bring newfound joy!

What would your advice be to someone looking to experiment with bold statement outfits and colour clashing?
Start by wearing a colour that makes you happy when looking at it, start small, maybe introduce it through an accessory, shoes or bright lip (a must-have for looking fab in a virtual meeting). When you are confident with it, go bolder with your outfit choice. It’s all about being confident in what you wear and how you wear it. If you're loving the outfit you're wearing, the rest of the world will too!

Jordan Turner, Sydney bookstore co-owner and writer

What does the theme ‘Spring Outside the Box' spring to mind for you?
The idea of ‘Spring Outside the Box’, to me, means being bold and confident. Be yourself, wear what you want, and I think you’ll find that doing you is the best trend you can set.

What are the biggest fashion trends you're seeing and loving for Spring 2021?
In Men’s spring, I’m seeing a lot of bright pops of colour paired back with something neutral. It’s almost like an equation, a neutral base with daring and bold pops of colour. I’m most looking forward to the colour running across into men’s bags and other accessories - something that has been known previously to exist in either black or brown leather, nylon or canvas. Bring in the blues, the greens, the warm colours of the sunny seasons, I say!

Mahalia Handley, Northern Territory artist, model and activist

What does the theme ‘Spring Outside The Box' spring to mind for you?
It really meant for me how we visualise or know spring to be individually. Australia has different climates in different regions, and with half of the Australian population either being from or has a parent from overseas, the visualisation and reminders of what and when spring 'is' was the way I conceptualised the theme. Where I grew up in Darwin, we don't have spring as a season, it falls into a season we call 'The Build-Up' when the weather is sitting at about 36-38 degrees every day, there's been no rain for weeks with 100% humidity. The locals call it Mango Madness season because everyone is really starting to lose it from the heat but the tropical fruit is at its peak of production and mangos are abundant. To me growing up without the normal weather seasons means my perception of seasons is different but simultaneously also very familiar to many other Australian residents, I hope they can recognise a bit of their normal in my normal of ‘spring’.

What are your Top 3 beauty must-haves this season?
Sunscreen that doesn't make me break out! I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) so I have to be super careful about what products I'm applying. Some fun jewellery! I'm obsessed with Swarovski’s recent collection, the colours are tres chic! A bold colour on the lip or eye to compliment the bright and loud clothing I wear.

Jess Miller, Queensland mother-of-three and photographer

What does the theme ‘Spring Outside the Box' spring to mind for you?
Just expressing your individuality. Don’t being afraid to mix colours and patterns and have fun with what you’re wearing.

What fashion trends are you seeing among kids fashion this Spring?
Lots of colour, tie dye, florals and bold patterns. Tie dye also makes for a fun kids’ DIY activity. Best to take it to the backyard as it can prove messy!
