As one of Australia’s largest local fashion manufacturers, Cue has been pioneering modern style for over 50 years. To get an idea of this season’s latest trends, we spoke to David Fraser, Cue’s recently appointed Design Director, about which three key pieces he suggests to build a capsule wardrobe around this autumn and winter.

1. The hourglass coat in oatmeal

The first piece is the Hourglass Coat in oatmeal, which David describes as having a “beautiful waist defining seam detail that really cinches in the waist, which feels very of the moment”.

Made from Italian Manteco soft wool twill, this coat features a midi length with full length sleeves. Featuring a wide collar and lapel, it has a double-breasted design with button closure and front welt pockets.

2. Leather biker jacket in pinot

Next is the Leather Biker Jacket “in the colour of the season, pinot”.

Made from Certified Crocodile Embossed Lamb Leather, this hip-length jacket has a boxy silhouette and features a high collar and lapel, detachable self belt, and snap front and zip closure, for edginess and versatility.

David recommends pairing with wide leg denim pants to make a “beautiful colour combo” and with a white shirt for an “element of softness that plays off the toughness of the biker jacket”. Anchor your wardrobe with this staple for effortless and endless outfitting options.

3. Viscose stretch sleeveless midi dress in black

Finally, the Viscose Stretch Sleeveless Midi Dress “is the little black dress that every woman needs in their closet”, according to David.

Made from a Viscose Stretch, this fitted midi length dress features grown on sleeves, a crew neckline, shoulder and waist gathers, as well as a centre back invisible zip. Its design sculpts the figure and “suits so many different types of women and body types”.

David suggests pairing with “the croc crescent bag for a really polished look” and chunky sandals or slim heels for an easy day-to-night transition.
