The Social Outfit: First Things First

In Australia, less than 33% of refugee women have jobs. Many face barriers such as a lack of local work experience or limited access to skills training.
The Social Outfit creates opportunities that recognise their skills, build financial independence and open doors to careers across fashion and retail. Their retail and sewing training programs support refugee and new migrant women with a first start. These paid employment programs help refugee and new migrant women build careers, earn income and participate fully in Australian life.
We’re supporting The Social Outfit’s First Things First fundraising campaign this Refugee Week, raising money to fund these paid training programs.
