Meet our Westfield Local Hero finalists

Jean Coles

Community Collective Hamilton Hill

Caring. Selfless. Dedicated.

Food and pantry items reach thousands of individuals each month through Community Collective Hamilton Hill, and Jean Coles helps make it happen. She collects donations, prepares and sorts food and runs community stalls, supporting families experiencing hardship across the area. At 79, her steady, practical presence keeps essential groceries flowing to people in need.

If Jean is successful, the grant will contribute towards a refrigerated van to support the ongoing collection and distribution of food.

Kristen Hanks

Camp Autism WA

Compassionate. Committed. Inspiring.

Weekend camps run by Camp Autism offer children with autism and their families relaxation, activities and belonging. Kristen Hanks helps keep these programs going through her role as Treasurer and dedicated camp host. Her experience raising a child with autism, when disability supports were limited, first brought her to the organisation and now motivates her to help other families on the same journey.

If Kristen is successful, the grant will fund three weekend camps over the next 12 months, with up to 20 families taking part in each camp.

Leigh Sinclair

Imagined Futures

Empathetic. Collaborative. Transformative.

Leigh Sinclair unites a range of organisations in her community through Imagined Futures, to create clear, supportive pathways to a better future for vulnerable young people. By bringing together government agencies, not-for-profits and community groups in shared, practical action, she makes a lasting difference to children’s education, their quality of life, mental health and cultural connection.

If successful, the grant will fund website and print resources for early intervention programs that help young people at risk to navigate community support.
