Your 2023 Westfield Booragoon Local Hero is:

Clare Bond

Fremantle Netball Association

Supportive. Passionate. Enthusiastic.

Local Heroes - B

Enthusiastic Clare Bond has devoted 20 years of her life to netball, inspiring girls and women of all skill levels to participate and playing an integral role in creating a vibrant and healthy local netball community.

Clare has been an active committee member of the 5000-strong Fremantle Netball Association for 10 years, where she lives the mission of promoting and developing local netball and providing a fun and safe place to play.

Still a player after 20 years, Clare has never stopped giving to the sport, even while studying to become a chartered accountant and after taking on the challenges of her new career.

Clare is a respected role model and is committed to helping athletes and volunteers learn teamwork and skills they can apply on and off the court and use to be successful in their future pursuits.

She volunteers countless hours across several clubs and organisations, enjoying the ability to positively influence the experience others have with sport and to contribute to the development of future leaders.

Clare is delighted to be nominated as a Westfield Local Hero. “I love engaging girls and women in sport and providing opportunities to my netball community through my voluntary work,” she says.

Fremantle Netball Association will use its funds to support its strategic plan by investing in coaching, professional development, uniforms and subsidising new programs to encourage inclusivity.
