Quiet Time: Every Tuesday between 10:30am - 11:30am

Quiet Time

Westfield Booragoon aims to create an inclusive environment for all customers and offer a shopping experience where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

Through our Quiet Time initiative, we look to make a difference to those who face the challenges of shopping in a high sensory environment, allowing customers and their families and carers to remain connected to their community.

Quiet Time also benefits people on the autism spectrum, as well as those affected by other sensory issues and a range of hidden disabilities.

Every Tuesday between 10.30am - 11.30am, the music is changed to a softer playlist to limit sensory over-stimulation. Beyond the common areas in Westfield Booragoon, many of our retailers will also participate by dimming the lights and lowering the music in their stores during Quiet Time.

On Tuesdays between 10:30am and 11:30am, customers can expect:

  • Dimmed lighting in centre common areas (food courts, walkways)
  • Lowered music volume
  • No PA announcements are made, except in the case of emergencies

You can find our sensory friendly map here to assist customers who are sensitive to sounds, lights, smells and may benefit from a low-sensory shopping experience.

Participating retailers include:

  • Jurlique
  • Oscar Wylee
  • Coles
  • Woolworths

To assist customers who are sensitive to sounds, lights and smells and may benefit from low-sensory shopping experiences, a sensory map of the centre will be available here soon. For a full list of services offered at Westfield Booragoon click here.
