Meet our Westfield Local Hero finalists

Ben Harvey

Youngcare

Inclusive. Determined. Purposeful.

As Youngcare's Community Fundraising Coordinator, Ben Harvey speaks at schools and community events across the Gold Coast, helping young people understand disability, inclusion and empathy. He is motivated by his own lived experience - in 2003, a spinal cord injury sustained during a rugby game left him paralysed- that now drives everything he does for others.

If Ben is successful, the grant will fund Youngcare's expanded school engagement program, delivering student leadership activities, inclusion talks and community events.

Isobelle Fawkes

Drug Arm

Selfless. Caring. Driven.

Through Drug ARM, Isobelle Fawkes helps people experiencing addiction take positive steps towards recovery. Her compassionate approach empowers people to rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships and reconnect with community life.

If Isobelle is successful, the grant will strengthen Drug ARM's free counselling and early intervention services on the Gold Coast through updated resources and specialised training for volunteer and student counsellors.

Theresa Mitchell

Agape Outreach

Compassionate. Visionary. Inspirational.

After rebuilding her own life following domestic violence as a single mum, Theresa Mitchell founded Agape Outreach to provide support for families in need across the northern Gold Coast. As psychologist and CEO, she leads an organisation providing meals, hampers, counselling and skills training to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.

If Theresa is successful, the grant will directly fund food relief for people experiencing homelessness and hardship in the region.
