Woden Community Service (The Little Pantry)

Jill’s work with The Little Pantry in Woden helps provide
food packages to Canberra families in hardship. Jill is
motivated by love for her community and by the desire
to teach her own children about need in the community.
She has a firm belief that all families should have access to
healthy food.

Fearless Women

Trish supports young women and girls through Fearless Women,
a charity that provides mentoring, counselling, and education to
build confidence and self-esteem in those facing the challenges of
life. This year alone, her efforts have impacted over 100 girls. Trish
also volunteers for multiple community initiatives, include Vinnie’s
night patrol and Canberra Legacy.

Parkinson’s ACT

John Pratt is an acclaimed artist
who volunteers as the coordinator
and lead facilitator of Tingey
Painting with Parkinson’s Program
(TPwP).
For nearly 30 years, John has
been dedicated to supporting
those with Parkinson’s through art
therapy, inspired by founder Nancy
Tingey.

Raise Foundation

Karen Mohring is the community programs manager at Raise
Foundation. She coordinates youth mentoring programs in
Canberra high schools, supporting students’ mental health and
wellbeing. “I love working with young people and supporting
their healthy development and wellbeing,” she says. Karen’s
dedication ensures students receive the guidance and
encouragement needed to succeed.

Bosom Buddies ACT Inc

Catherine Rider-Aichholzer is the executive officer of Bosom
Buddies, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals
diagnosed with breast cancer in the ACT and regional NSW.
Despite being retired, she works part-time to ensure no one
faces breast cancer alone. Catherine and her volunteer team
support over 1,000 people every year.

Roundabout Canberra

Modest Jodie Irvine has dug deep for
five years to provide thousands of
local children with the essential items
they need to stay safe and warm.

Fearless Women Incorporated

Glenda Stevens is the founding CEO of Fearless Women
Incorporated, where she encourages girls and young women
to live with confidence, courage, resilience and hope. She
has reached more than 3,000 schoolgirls with her Fearless
Future course and enrolled 50 young women in a two-year
mentorship program.

Lions Club of Canberra Brindabella

Verlene Marshall goes above and beyond every day to support
a wide network of people in her community. Verlene’s most
significant contributions include being President of the Lions
Club of Canberra Brindabella and Board Secretary of Lions Youth
Haven. She also takes every opportunity to get involved in
hands-on volunteer work.
