Meet Modbury Locksmiths
Wieslaw (John) and wife Lindsey opened Plaza Locksmiths Locksmiths 35 years ago in 1985.

John’s son Danny started managing the shop in 2011, where John’s passion for business & locksmithing rubbed off on Danny.

Soon after, in 2015 Danny and Louise Potuszynski bought the business, relocated the shop and renamed the business what we all know it today as Modbury Locksmiths.
With fresh ideas, Danny saw an opportunity to market heavily in the local community with this new name. So, with a strong emphasis advertising locally in social media & the internet plus offering excellent customer service in shop, the business became extremely popular and it wasn’t long before Modbury Locksmiths needed to expand the whole business.
They now have 2 mobile vans, a full time locksmith, shop manager / engraver, 2 casual staff and updated machinery.
In Danny’s words,
“My favourite thing about Tea Tree Plaza, is that I am a local, my kids are all in local schools, and they play in local sporting teams, so it is nice to see a lot of people I have connections with in local community swing past the shop and say Hello! It makes my day go faster and it is nice to have a chat!
A business highlight is watching my mobile locksmith business build, mainly due to the professionalism and expertise of our locksmith Ryan, together we have secured some major master key systems in the local area which gives us continual locksmith work. Also, the quality of our engraving has never been better with the addition of Michael Moses one of the best hand engravers I have ever seen! His engraving on glass is exceptional.
Believe it or not, being a locksmith shop, one of our biggest sellers are Lava Lamps, they are timeless I guess… they decorate the front window well, they give colour and movement and best of all we sell them by the dozen!
Our most popular items are hip flasks, stainless steel mugs for engraving and car remotes & transponder keys seems to have grown over the years.
The Plaza is our home, and we have many friends & acquaintance’s from the other retailers, the Westfield staff that we have got to know quite well over the journey, to all the locals we see on a daily basis that always give us a smile and a laugh from time to time.
Lastly, we will be relocating on November 3rd back to a shop in between the Butchers & Godfreys. We will miss the foot traffic, but we need the extra space!”
