Celebrate Eid al-Fitr in style
Hi! I’m Yasmin Jay. I’m so happy to share that I’ve teamed up with Westfield Liverpool in one of my most exciting collaborations yet. We’re bringing you a styling guide to inspire your perfect Eid look! AKA the festive fashion that happens right after Ramadan!
Ramadan is a month-long spiritual journey filled with prayer, charity, family, gratefulness and reflection. We refrain from food, beverages and smoking from dawn to sunset, breaking our fast with the customary date and water. It is a time to sympathise with the less fortunate, encourage spiritual reconnection and practice refraining from daily moreish snacks!
The month ends with an awaited celebration, Eid Al Fitr, that involves plenty of feasting, lots of presents, and wearing your best clothes. This is the time to make up for your forgone-coffee faces! Read on for the ultimate Eid styling haul.
Patterns and pantsuits are trendy this season, with plaid being the chosen print! I am in love with the co-ord set from Bardot because it is tailored to perfection. Style over this stunning emerald-green blouse and your favourite pumps for a look that will impress all the Eid crowds this year! You can refashion the blazer with black leggings and this beret from Universal store
High-waisted flare pants can up the ante on a simple look and elongate your legs. These Bec & Bridge pin-stripe pants from Piper Lane are a closet keepsake because they can be styled in so many ways after Eid. I’ve opted for classic monochrome with a Bardot zip-up sweater and Piper Lane black split-overthrow. Put on my must-have sunnies from Universal Store
POP OF COLOUR
Nothing says statement like fire-engine red. I suggest colour blocking the red sweater and white pants from Universal Store, because the chain detailing on the pants is the perfect metallic accent! Plus, I love an edgy twist, which is why I’ve accessorised with a matching beret and sneakers. This look will leave you looking fresh off the latest runway. Strut it!
This Myer outfit is perfect for those who can’t brave the chilly days. Remember how we said bold colours and plaid is trending? This is a great way to rework the look. Pair the plaid blouse with black leggings and this green-gorgeous faux fur jacket. Depending on what type of girl you are, finish the look with sneakers or heels. I’m definitely a sneakers type girl!
