Rajesh Venkataramaiah has been serving the Liverpool community by dedicating the past 27 years to uplifting families, supporting migrants and families facing hardship.
As a senior leader and longstanding volunteer at Sewa Australia, a non-profit rooted in selfless service, Rajesh has led life-changing initiatives in disaster relief, domestic-violence support and community development.

He mentors youth and adults alike, while championing programs such as Positive Parenting, Seniors' Empowerment and New Migrant Support. His leadership has impacted over 300 families and inspired a growing national network of 1500+ volunteers.
“Volunteering requires a broad mind, passion, teamwork, commitment, and dedication,” says Rajesh.

“My motivation comes from the joy of giving back selflessly, working in harmony, and driving positive change.”
Rajesh’s leadership across a range of programs, including Positive Parenting, Seniors’ Empowerment and refugee initiatives, has helped uplift those participants and strengthen their community bonds.
“Seeing individuals and groups unite for a common purpose, supported by corporates, councils, and government, reinforces my belief in the impact of our work. Raising awareness of social issues and fostering community engagement makes every effort meaningful,” says Rajesh.

Rajesh volunteers for up to six hours per day, which includes his work as a dedicated crisis responder, providing support for families during bushfires, floods and challenging circumstances; he also organises blood donation drives and support for the homeless in the community.

The $20,000 grant will be used for Sewa counsellor and volunteer training, positive parenting sessions for youth, and wellness therapy for vulnerable families.

We’d like to thank and acknowledge our finalists who will receive a $5K grant for the organisation they represent...
