Changing Places now open

As part of our upgrade of the Ground Floor amenities next to Millers, we are pleased to have a brand new Accessible Adult Change Facility, known as Changing Places.

This new addition will ensure that we cater for our customers who may require some extra assistance when visiting our centre.

What is Changing Places?
Our Changing Places facility offers a full sized change table and hoist to meet the needs of people who cannot use standard accessible toilets.
With over 1.3 million Australian's having a profound or severe core limitation, the lack of toilet facilities available to them is a major social barrier preventing families and individuals from enjoying basic day to day activities, like visiting Westfield Geelong.

Our Changing Places facility includes:

  • A height adjustable adult sized changing bench
  • A constant charging ceiling track hoist system
  • A centrally located peninsula toilet
  • Circulation spaces
  • Automatic door with a clear opening of 950mm

Access to the Changing Places amenities can be done via an MLAK key, or by contacting the Concierge desk.

Changing Places was officially opened Thursday 7th November 2019 by Christine Couzens MP & local customer, Jack.

Changing Places is funded jointly by City of Greater Geelong, Victoria State Government & Scentre Group.
