A former Navy SEAL (Brad Pitt) and his retired combat dog in the frozen backcountry after a catastrophic crash — with New Zealand's Fiordland standing in for Alaska, convincingly enough that even the sandflies seem confused. From Fury director David Ayer, it's less a buddy movie than a survival pact: one man, one dog, zero patience for each other, and a very long walk home.
