Announcing your 2026 Westfield Local Hero

Your 2026 Westfield Doncaster Local Hero is:

Lynne Murray

Diamond Valley Community Support

Selfless. Dedicated. Kind.

Lynne Murray has been awarded a $20,000 grant for their organisation, Diamond Valley Community Support.

Every year, Lynne Murray coordinates thousands of emergency relief visits in her community to bring vital support to people in financial hardship. Through her work with Diamond Valley Community Support (DVCS) she helps families navigate mental health, homelessness and domestic violence, connecting them with accommodation support and helping with access to food, transport, medication and education.

“I started volunteering at DVCS in 2019 and saw what great work they were doing and wanted to be a part of it,” Lynne shares. “What motivates me is seeing someone walk out with a smile on their face, as they have been listened to and supported to the best of our ability," she adds.

As well as leading the relief visits, Lynne runs the DVCS Advocacy Program, guiding families through Centrelink, housing, and digital barriers, so they can stabilise their lives and move forward. Lynne also mentors up to 12 students each year, shaping the next generation of community workers, and coordinates Gift Appeal, ensuring nearly 700 children receive presents during challenging times. She is committed to giving people living through hardship the chance to be resilient and self-sufficient members of the community.

We'd like to thank and acknowledge our finalists who will receive a $5,000 grant for the organisation they represent

Jaimee Krawitz

Hide N Seek Foundation

Empathetic. Visionary. Impactful.

Jaimee Krawitz established Hide N Seek Foundation after her own experience of an eating disorder, when she felt isolated and misunderstood. Through her work, she leads workshops, school partnerships and community programs to equip parents, teachers and caregivers with the language and understanding to support young people before challenges become crises.
