We sat down with the Vans Fresh team to learn more about their store and offering. Read on to learn more about your fresh food grocer and what they have to offer.

Tell us about your store and what makes it special?
We are fresh food specialists with a passion for quality. We buy direct from the market 7 days a week, providing fresh products for customers daily. Our buyer personally selects the best quality products every day from the market. We tailor our offer to suit our customers’ needs and will continue to respond to customer requests and feedback. We have a very experienced team who will go out of their way to satisfy our customers' needs.

How long have you been in the industry for?
Leon (the owner) has been in the food retail industry for 35 years in various roles from Store Manager to General Manager of supermarkets and his son Neil has been working alongside him in their IGA supermarket for the past 7 years and 3 years in Woolworths prior to that. Our buyer Ben has 30 years in produce business. Our Store Manager Michael has 15 years in supermarkets and 5 years at Harris Farm, and Assistant Manager Brad is an ex-Harris Farm Store Manager.

What are your most popular ‘fly off the shelf’ products?
Bananas are the number one selling product in fresh produce, followed by cut seedless watermelon, avocados, and Asian vegetables.

What do you stock that customers might not know about? Any personal favourites?
Gourmet deli and grocery products, Asian grocery, and frozen lines.

Do you stock any products that are unique to your store?
Not at the moment. Introduction of liquor is still pending. (boutique wine & craft beer)

Do you offer any additional services?
Online ordering will be launching soon with click and collect as well as delivery options. Gift boxes on request.
