VR Kingdom: Get the Party Started

VR Kingdom, Level 6

Planning a kids birthday bash can be super stressful and a ton of work for parents. If you’re in the mood for something different this year, why not try hosting a virtual reality (VR) birthday party? VR parties are a blast for all ages and interests, plus they take a lot of the pressure off since the kids will be immersed in VR most of the time.
Here are 5 key tips for throwing a killer VR birthday bash:

1. What's the Right VR Experience? Age Range? Interests?

So, first things first - figure out what kind of VR experience you want to offer your guests. There are tons of VR games and experiences out there, so make sure to pick something that everyone at your party will enjoy. If you’re not sure where to start, just ask your guests what they’re into and we can help you choose a cool experience.

Two of the most popular VR experiences are VR escape rooms and VR shooting games. VR escape rooms will take your group to a whole new world where you have to work together to solve puzzles and mysteries. It’s a great team-building activity for ages 7 and up. Just check the difficulty level before you dive in.

On the other hand, VR shooting games are all about multiplayer action. Team up to take down zombies, orcs, goblins, or androids, or go head-to-head with your friends in a battle royale. It’s a blast whether you’re playing solo or in a team.

2. What's the Theme of The Party?

When planning a VR birthday party for kids, choosing a theme can really take the experience to the next level. Whether you opt for a futuristic VR escape room or an action-packed VR shooting games theme, the possibilities are endless. This could be anything from a specific VR title like “Alice in Wonderland” to a general theme like "zombie game" or "inside a pyramid". Let your child’s imagination run wild and create a party they’ll never

3. How Many Players?

How many players are coming to the party? It’s important to think about this when choosing a VR experience. Some games are best for smaller groups of 2 to 4 players, while others can handle up to 12. But don’t worry, some venues can run multiple sessions of the same game at once. This means your group can compete for the best time in an escape room or the high score in a shooting game, adding some fun competition! To ensure a stress-free experience, make sure all the kids stay engaged throughout their time at the venue. Talk to the venue about how they can accommodate your group and keep everyone entertained.

4. Got Some Invitations Ready?

Make sure to have your invites ready! The sooner you send them out, the better. Don’t forget to set a RSVP deadline for your guests. VR sessions begin at a specific time, so make sure your group arrives at least 30 mins early. At the venue, there are waiver forms to complete and the players need to attend safety and game briefings before the game starts. Providing information on parking, best spots, and public transport will help your guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience. Remember to also remind them to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for the best VR experience.

5. Will Your Guests be Hungry?

Don’t forget about the food and drinks! Keep it simple with snacks and drinks, or go all out with a themed menu. Remember, after the morning VR experience, your guests might be hungry, so be sure to have some food ready. In the afternoon, you may just need some snacks and a birthday cake. Keep it stress-free and enjoy the party! Remember to also consider any dietary restrictions or allergies your guests may have when planning the menu. Most importantly, have fun and make sure to take time to enjoy the party yourself!

In conclusion, organising a successful VR birthday party can be a fun and stress-free experience with the right planning. Remember to choose the right VR experience based on age range and interests, pick a theme to make the party extra special, consider the number of players attending, send out invites early, and don’t forget about food and drinks. Keep it simple, enjoy the party, and most importantly, have fun!
