Inglot: divine boardroom to bar makeup in 5 minutes
It's a likely story... You have after work drinks planned for a Friday afternoon, which means you'll have to get ready somewhere in the 30 minutes between your last meeting and hitting the bar.
You've got the outfit nailed: you wore a dress that's both party- and office-appropriate and have your heels and clutch waiting under the desk. But what about your makeup? Nobody wants to spend an hour in the bathroom redoing their face!
We caught up with the talented Chantelle at Inglot for her step-by-step guide on updating makeup from day to night, so all we need to do is make a few quick changes at our desk to be completely party-ready. Now, where's that champagne?
Your daytime makeup
"Create a fresh base on well-primed skin, followed by simple brows (you can go bolder later), neutral warm tones on the eyes and a light sweep of mascara," says Chantelle.
"Also, pack a few key items in your bag that you can use throughout the day or when it comes to changing up your look. My picks? A refreshing face mist, pressed blotting powder, highlighter to transform your base, a bold lip tint and a smudgy kohl liner to make eyes pop."
Products used: AMC Cream Foundation, Beautifier Tinted Cream, HD Illuminizing Loose Powder, AMC Multicolour System Bronzing Powder, Freedom System Eyeshadow in 285, AMC Brow Liner Gel, Volume and Waterproof Mascara, High Gloss Lip Oil, all from Inglot.
Step 1: Smoke it out
Finally, party time is here! Chantelle says one of the easiest ways to take your look from day to night is to add a smoky eye. This can be time-consuming though, so she recommends building on what you've already got from this morning.
"Smoke out kohl liner with our new bullet-shaped brush – this will add drama around the eyes, without you having to spend time on eyeshadow or carrying too many products in your bag."
Products used: Kohl Liner, Makeup Brush 49SS, Volume and Waterproof Mascara, all from Inglot.
Step 2: Highlight, highlight, highlight
"You've kept your base simple with a soft bronzer, so now you can build on it without it being too heavy," says Chantelle.
"Freshen your skin with a refreshing mist for hydration, then add contour and highlighter to transform into a night time look. Our 24SS makeup brush is double-ended and perfect for this job – and for your clutch!"
"Apply the contour in the hollows of the cheekbones before dusting the highlighter on your cheekbones and in the corner of your eyes for added drama."
