Serum love: best-selling serums for every skin type

I suppose winter has some good things going for it – chic coats, open fireplaces and red wine, etc etc. But… it also brings a lot of bad things too, like the freezing cold, sniffly noses and dry, flaky skin.
That last one can be a real problem, because no matter how much we avoid scalding hot showers and how many times a day we lather ourselves in thick moisturisers and face creams, the dryness doesn’t stop.
This is terrible news for our makeup routine; our skin usually drinks our foundation by the end of the day, if the foundation even goes on at all!
If this is you, it’s likely you’re missing a crucial step in the skincare department: serums. Serums are luxurious, hydrating, dry-skin-loving oils that soak into the skin and plump it up, erasing any sign of winter and creating the perfect base for your makeup.
We’ve rounded up the best-selling serums from our favourite makeup stores for dry, oily and mature skin. Yep, even oily skin needs a serum!
Dehydrated skin is no fun; it can make us look tired and dull, and often feels flaky, itchy or painful. Serums are so, so important for dry skin and these ones are cult classics for a reason.

So you think if you suffer from oily or blemish-prone skin you don’t need a serum? Think again! It’s all just a matter of choosing the right one for your skin issue and making sure it’s the right consistency. These options are lightweight, won’t add any excess oil and can even control your pimples. Score!

From Sephora to David Jones, there are plenty of serums on the market that are made especially for mature skin, promising to plump up wrinkles, fade age spots, improve collagen and elasticity and brighten your complexion. These are the favourites of the beauty world.
