Men's skin care: look after your skin in winter

It comes as no suprise that today’s modern man is much more aware of his grooming needs than ever before. No longer does a simple bar of soap, quick shave and a splash of (usually pungent) cologne get the job done. Who among us doesn't suffer from the occasional Lynx flashback?
Suffice to say, as grooming has become a staple for the everyday man’s routine, your daily skin care could probably do with a little helping hand. And with the winter winds fast approaching, now is the time to lock your routine down.
Keep it clean
A general rule of thumb is to wash your face twice daily - once in the morning and once in the evening. A good cleanser will be your best friend, so opt for a gentle face wash that won’t strip your skin and beard of their natural oils.

Manage your moisture
This is paramount in the colder months. Not only are you fighting harsher daily elements such as wind and rain, but steaming hot showers (stripping your skin of its natural oils), office air con and traversing outside can often leave your skin dry and irritatated. As there is an extensive range of different moisturising options, make sure you select for your correct skin type, age and desired effect.

While we've all somewhat revelled in the recent bearded trend (both men and women alike), it seems as though the pendulum may be swinging back the other way. Thanks to the 1980s trends we've seen coming down the latest runways, clean-shaven faces are on the rise. Make sure your shaving kit is on point and your tools are up to scratch for healthly stubble and skin.

If you do decide to bare all this winter, take advantage of this hair-free time in your life by trying out a sheet face mask. Hailed as ideal for targeting dry, oily and acne-prone skin, these masks are quick, easy and offer a variety of treatments.
