The BIRKENSTOCK Arizona is a genuine classic. This individually adjustable unisex two- strap sandal is now available in a casual version in oiled nubuck leather. The soft leather features an open selvage finish, emphasising the handcrafted and natural look of these stylish sandals.

The original BIRKENSTOCK footbed, is inspired by the natural imprint of a foot in the sand. Its anatomical shape ideally supports the natural walking action of your foot. Your feet, joints and back are protected. At the same time, your foot and leg muscles are exercised, and your health and well-being benefit as a result.

Upper: Oiled Leather Oiled leather is one of our favourite types of leather. Its oily waxed surface makes for a unique colour effect and develops a beautiful patina
Insole: Natural leather Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimetres as upper material.
Footbed material: Cork Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
Outsole: EVA EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.
Oiled leathers are designed to appear stressed and rustic looking. Leather conditioner will minimise this look. A lot of this occurs when the shoes are in transit as the paper rubs against the shoes and the shoes themselves jostle one another in the box creating scratches or scuffs on the leather. This can be worked out using your fingertips. The leather can appear dryer(lighter) in patches where the oil has dispersed or darker where the oil has settled. When you bend the straps or move the leather the colour will change frequently showing up crackly as the oil disperses.
