The standard CCT (covered carriage trucks) was a two-axle wagon that was used for express freight and parcels to smaller destinations for which a full parcel service was not worthwhile. After nationalization, BR continued to use the wagons, they were a ubiquitous sight in the 1950s and 60s. They were taken out of service from the mid-1980s. Some CCT vans have been preserved.
