Congratulations to our Westfield Miranda Local Heroes

On Tuesday 1 October, we celebrated our 6 Westfield Miranda Local Heroes with a lunch at The Good Place. Our finalists and their guests were invited to join in on the official celebrations, heroing the incredible work they do within our community.

We heard first hand from Shantelle Tagg, Rob Cook, Kim Hiron, about their unique experiences, as well as the positive impact of their involvement in the Local Heroes Program in generating awareness and discussion around topics important to them.

Westfield Local Heroes is a community recognition and grants program that recognises the important work everyday people undertake in their communities, often this work is done in their own time and with less recognition than they deserve.

The program is designed to shine the light on you – our community leaders – and highlight and reward all of you for working tirelessly to promote social wellbeing and harmony across the important social values of Family, Youth Opportunity and Inclusion.

This is a program about the community, driven by the community, for the community. As finalists and heroes, you and your work has resonated with the local community, who nominated you and voted for you.

We would like to thank all nominees and finalists, for the work that they do simply makes our world a better place. A special congratulations again to all three Westfield Local Heroes. We’re looking forward to seeing just how much this grant benefits the work that they are already doing within our community.
