The story behind the display.

You may have noticed some colourful and woolly felt ball rugs in our Winter visual merchandise displays. These have a unique story behind them you might be interested to know.

It all started back in 1988 when a humble father left his stable teaching job to start a new career with his wife. They bought a spinning wheel and started making woollen yarns for local suppliers in Nepal.

Over the years they have evolved and now their focus is on making ethically produced, handmade felt ball rugs with a mission. Felt Ball Rugs Australia have grown immensely and currently have over 40 employees.

With the vision to empower women living in underprivileged Nepal communities by providing them with job opportunities, giving them a voice and giving them the ability to generate income to support their family. These women are too often victims of domestic violence and extremely venerable from little to no education.

It is in Felt Ball Rugs Australia’s DNA to produce world class products as if their family were going to use them their selves.

At the same time Felt Ball Rugs Australia are dedicated in providing excellent customer service to customers who appreciate their vision. Learn more about Felt Ball Rugs Australia or view there range on their website, here >
