Book Week: have you got your costume sorted?

Book Week: have you got your costume sorted?

What’s our favourite thing about August? Well apart from being one step closer to summer our favourite thing about August is Book Week!

Book Week is a great time of year when teachers children and of all ages get to dress up as their favourite character, from their favourite book.

The purpose of Book Week is to get kids excited about reading by showing them how much fun it can be to escape to a fictional wonderland. Reading is a fundamental skill for children, it increases their general knowledge, expands their vocabulary, improves memory, produces stronger analytical thinking skills and helps develop their writing skills. You never know who the next great Australian author might be so encourage your kids to use their imagination and get creative this Book Week by writing a story of their own.

So where do you go to get the coolest Book Week costume of all time? Westfield Marion of course! Below is our guide to the coolest Book Week costumes and where to get them.
