Westfield is home to your happy place. This autumn, we are celebrating all things wonderful that encourage us to slow down and make the most of every moment.
We caught up for a cosy coffee with the stylist of our latest autumn campaign, Jackie Shaw, to find out what makes her happy and what trends (as well as how to style them) will be putting a smile on her face this season.
Each of the talent wear vibrant looks available at Westfield from a range of Australian and international retailers, including Aje, Alice McCall, Gorman, Sportscraft, Cue, Witchery, Scotch & Soda, Mimco, Cotton On, Platypus Shoes, General Pants, Zara and H&M.
Jackie, where is your happy place?
Anywhere by the ocean…
Do you have one thing in your wardrobe that makes you happy?
My oldest slouchiest cashmere sweater.
What are the biggest trends you are seeing for autumn 22?
There is something for everyone this autumn winter. I’m loving oversized puffers for a bit of fun, statement denim in all shapes and sizes and still everything nineties.
What are your tips on experimenting with bold colours?
When combining strong shades, work colours in similar tones to achieve a cohesive look. Pink and red are a brilliant combo. Consider abstract prints in bold colours. Pair them with your favourite neutrals as a starting point to include colour into your wardrobe.
If you had to pick 3 colours to add a pop to your outfit what would they be?
I gravitate towards more blue-based colours for my skin tone. I love a hint of pink, and cobalt blue is a consistent fave. I recently bought an emerald green skirt which is a new colour for me.
What are your tips on layering during this trans-seasonal time?
Try and avoid lots of chunky layers. I love adding a denim shirt over a thin knit and a blazer on top for a polished look. Knit vests are a key item for this winter and a perfect layering piece for men and women. Shackets (shirt jackets) or over-shirts on top of a tee or roll-neck knit are easy layers to add a hint of warmth for trans seasonal times.
What 3 things do you think everyone should invest in this year?
Dare I say it but this year it’s all about the clog and the socks and slides combo for footwear! Great tailored pieces are always a good investment (this season, consider a sleek vest) and for extra comfort, opt for an oversized textured knit.
