10. Diane Kruger in Prabal Gurung

Considered by her European fans as the queen of style, Kruger does not disappoint sporting the New York cult designer, Prabal Gurung. The soft powder blue ruching on the never-ending train combined with the structured and detailed skirt helps to frame the actress as the angel Gabriel herself.

9. Jennifer Lopez in Balmain

Is it just us, or is J Lo getting younger and more stunning as time goes on? The Latino princess of pop slays as the newest member of Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain army. Que Fuego!

8. Blake Lively in Versace

When Lively stepped out of her hotel linking arms with shoe god, Christian Louboutin, sporting a Versace robe we knew this look was going to be big. Never did we expect this amount of volume and detail to be draped around the queen of the Met steps herself, Ms Serena Van der Woodsen.

7. Jasmine Sanders in H&M

The model’s wraithlike gown, created by the high street brand H&M, was a show-stopper but it was her astonishing braid that confirmed her spot in the top 10. Created by hairstylist Renda Attia, this braid is truly something from the Garden of Eden.

6. Priyanka Chopra in Ralph Lauren

Sporting the classic American designer, Ralph Lauren, Chopra wowed in this deep burgundy velvet gown. While we've seen plenty of crowns, crosses, and even some looks inspired by Jesus himself, the actress' stunning jeweled hood made for a truly unique take on the religious gala theme.

5. Kate Bosworth in Oscar de la Renta

With the late Oscar de la Renta creating her real life wedding dress in 2013, it is only fitting that Bosworth pay homage to the king of bridal in this sacred gown. The distinctive Italian hair and make up finishes off the look perfectly, giving her a spot in our top 5.

4. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Ralph Lauren

Never ceasing to amaze at the Met gala year in and year out, here Rosie wows in the most ethereal silhouette of the evening. Topped off with the perfect headpiece to finish the look, Rosie is going straight to fashion heaven.

3. & 2. Lana Del Ray and Jared Leto

With Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele by their side, Lana del Ray and Jared Leto are quite literally a match made in heaven. Along with the incredible gold embellishment and embroidered panelling, the stand-out of this Gucci look for me is Lana’s angelic feathered headpiece.

And the moment you have been waiting for...

1. Rihanna in Maison Margiela

Topping the list, is our favourite and first ever female Pope, Cardinal Rihanna- Praise be! The total look designed by the unparalleled king of couture, John Galliano, must have weight an absolute tonne, but Rihanna made it look light as a feather with her larger-than-life presence. Move over Queen Bey, all hail Queen Rhi.
