It's a wrap: how to wear the robe trend

Step aside leather jacket, trench coat and boyfriend blazer... there's a new throw-on in town! It goes by the name of after-hours robe or kimono, and it's very chic indeed.

While fashion has taken a tomboy turn in recent years, it seems spring/summer '17 is throwing plenty of femininity into the mix with lace, ruffles, handmade embellishment, soft tones and floaty pieces that ooze a late night in Paris with a martini in hand. The after-hours robe is one of those pieces.

Over the coming months, you'll see these sultry robes on everyone from European magazine editors to fashion influencers to Kim Kardashian, so it seems only appropriate to delve into how they're worn. Our favourites? Grown up with wide-leg pants and metallic boots, edgy with leather pants and a sexy heel, or high fashion in head-to-toe neutrals.

Which is your pick?
