3-10 July is NAIDOC Week (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee); a time to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year, we celebrate ‘Songlines’ the oldest living narrative of our nation. Songlines record the travels of ancestral spirits of the Dreamtime who ‘sung’ life into the land. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the Dreamtime describes a time when the earth, people and animals were created by our ancestral spiritual beings.
Our centres support and recognise this occasion, so ‘SING WITH US’ as we celebrate NAIDOC. Check your local centre's events page to see what's happening.
