W: What’s the strangest Christmas present you ever received? And the coolest?
AH: The strangest one was the cheese fondue set in my first years in Australia (1974)! I had no idea what it was for and had never seen one in my life as we don't eat cheese in Vietnam!
My coolest present was an envelope full of Japanese Yen from Dan and his wife as I had booked a trip to Tokyo that year! My daughter Rebecca and her husband gave me the personalised pouch with gold initials – so cool!
W: How do you determine what sort of gift is best for a person?
AH: I normally take into consideration their lifestyle and their ages! I like my gift to be used or consumed! If in doubt, I give vases or bowls from Dinosaurs Design. They can used to display other items.
W: What do you buy someone you don’t like?
AH: if I really hate the person, I give them a bottle of fish sauce and I say you stink of fish sauce… (laughs).
W: Is it okay not to send Christmas cards?
AH: I prefer using social media for Christmas greetings to all my friends and relatives.
