1. Using a felt-tipped pen, draw an outline on the watermelon for eyes and a mouth. Cut a lid from the top. (triangle shapes for the eyes are easy)
2. Using a large spoon, scoop out the flesh and place into a bowl. Pour out any juice. Freeze 1kg of the fruit for slushies (search for watermelon slushies on our website). Reserve remaining flesh to eat fresh.
3. With a sharp-pointed knife cut out the eyes and mouthpieces. Place a tea-light candle inside.
4. Sit the lantern on a plate, light the candle, replace the lid and you’re ready for trick or treat night.
