Here the red carpet queen chats to us about her style, and shares her #mosthunted items:
You’re synonymous with fashion, especially red carpet style, what do you love about fashion?
Fashion played a huge role in my life growing up and has definitely inspired me with my own clothing line. My father is an expert tailor and he makes the most beautiful suits in the world. I loved hanging out with him in his store and taking in all the beautiful clothes he made.
What do you love about the hunt to find something new to wear?
I love exploring all the different fashion trends out there, and I always say that you’ll never make any best dressed lists without taking a few risks. Fashion is supposed to be fun!
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as edgy, yet chic. I like to be comfortable. While you usually see me in cute dresses and skirts on E! News, I don’t typically dress like that on the weekends, especially now that I am a mother.
We see you a lot on the red carpet, but how about your off -camera style?
I love throwing on a pair of J Brand skinny jeans and one of my tops from my HSN clothing line G by Giuliana Rancic. Anything that is easy breezy! If I am going out to dinner or to a party, I will throw on a pair of heels and a blazer, but otherwise you will find me in skinny jeans and a T-shirt.
If fashion is the prey, what’s something you’ve captured that you just can’t live without?
A typical outfit for me is my G by Giuliana Rancic distressed moto jacket in black with a pair of my leggings and a great pair of Louboutins. I can’t live without those staples.
What’s something that you think every woman needs in her wardrobe?
Every woman should have a chic black blazer, tailored black pants and a killer pair of heels in her closet. That’s my go-to outfit!
Thinking of the hunt, what kind of shopper are you?
I love to go shopping with girlfriends or my sister. It’s fun to have someone with you to give you an honest opinion. [My] husband Bill and [son] Duke also love to go shopping with me if you can believe it.
With all your style expertise, what’s your fashion “battle cry”?
Now that I am a mum, my number one fashion philosophy is the simpler, the better – I have to dress for function. Also, I would rather invest in a classic piece that’s a little pricier than a less expensive trendy piece. The classic will stay in my closet for years and the cheap, trendy piece will see the donation bin at the end of the season.
You’ve been through some challenging times over the past few years. Has that changed how you see things like fashion?
If anything, my health challenges and struggles taught me to enjoy life and to live life to the fullest. Life is meant to be enjoyed and if going shopping or putting on an amazing outfit makes me happy, then I’m going to do it!
Do you need to spend a fortune to look a million dollars?
Not at all! In fact, this past year I wore a gown worth thousands of dollars to the Oscars and months later I wore a $100 dress to the American Music Awards. Head-to-toe affordable pieces with one luxe piece, like a designer handbag or shoes, makes the whole outfit look super expensive.
How do you feel about Australian fashion designers?
When I think of Australian style, I think fashion forward, colourful and eff ortlessly chic. I wear a lot of Zimmermann, Ginger & Smart and Carla Zampatti, and I recently wore an Alex Perry gown to the Grammy Awards. Each of these designers has such an impeccable eye for what is current and fresh.
